Dazzling Outside Christmas DecorationDecorating with an outside Christmas decoration or two can certainly get you in the holiday spirit. I simply love driving through different neighborhoods in the month of December just to see and enjoy the variety of beautiful outdoor holiday decorations in front of people's homes as well as along the streets in public places.
If you happen to live in a neighborhood where people enjoy decorating the outside of their homes for the holidays, count yourself lucky. That way you can take a stroll in the evening and take a close look at all the cool lighted outdoor Christmas decorations in your neighbors' yards. Besides enjoying it, I also do that to get some ideas and inspiration for what outdoor holiday decoration I should get for my own house the following year. You see, every year I try to add at least one new outside Christmas decoration to my collection, so that I have something different to display in my yard every holiday season. My collection of outside Christmas decorations include prescribed strings of lights, a Santa Claus statue, a few plastic reindeer, and an angel Christmas light sculpture adorning the front of my house. Yes, I'm guilty of being one of those people who go all out when it comes to decorating for Christmas. I don't do that with the intention of competing with my neighbors like some people do, but simply because I love the holidays, and radiant outside Christmas decorations just make it even merrier. Purchasing an exterior Christmas decoration each year doesn't have to be an expensive investment though, and I know the best way to ensure this is the case. Buying a new outside Christmas decoration right after the holidays pass is going to save you money. If you were to buy that exact same outdoor holiday decoration in early December, you would expect to pay full price. Once the New Year rolls around, you'll enjoy huge savings. One of the most popular decorations that you see during the holiday season is Christmas lights for house decor. Even if you have a prelit artificial Christmas tree indoor, you can use these small and vibrant lights to adorn the exterior of your home as well. Many people use these blue, red, or white lights as an outside Christmas decoration on their home by themselves, or gracing an outdoor Christmas tree. Again, purchasing these Christmas lights after the holiday season means an instant savings, in some cases as much as half price. Garage and estate sales can also be wonderful resources when it comes to finding things to decorate for Christmas. Often times when people move out of town or downgrade to a smaller property, they will sell large items so they don't have to transport them to their new home. Therefore, you can often find a very inexpensive outside Christmas decoration or two at these sales.
Another trick I learned that saves me money is to make some outside Christmas decorations myself. Don't worry if you don't think you're a crafty person. This is very simple and easy to do. You can make a nice outdoor holiday decoration just using a large cardboard box and some gift wrap. All you need to do is reinforce the box with some packing tape, running it along the exterior so the box doesn't cave in. Then wrap the box up in brightly colored, holiday themed gift wrap and presto! You have just made a very cheap, yet great looking outside Christmas decoration. Last but not least, the internet is always a great place to find all kinds of stuff at bargain prices. I really like shopping online as it saves me time, gas, and frustration trying to find a parking spot. Early this year I found an elegant outside Christmas outdoor decoration on eBay. It was a miniature set consisting of baby Jesus surrounded by the three wise men. Since the item was relatively small, shipping was cheap, and it was delivered right to my door.
Getting into the holiday spirit is always fun and when you decorate your
home it makes it even more so. Indoor Christmas decorations are
fantastic, but there is something magical about having the exterior of
your home lively decorated as well. So, don't overlook the outside of your
house this year when the holiday season rolls around. Instead, get a cute
outside Christmas decoration or two to reflect how you feel about the
season. You never know, you just may encourage others to do the same. Other items of interest
